Humanitarian Work & Community Engagement

Rose’s humanitarian efforts are at the heart of her mission. She has dedicated years to empowering vulnerable communities through education and social justice. As a volunteer and project coordinator with Canadian Samaritans for Africa, she supported initiatives promoting women’s economic independence and education for girls in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Cameroon. She founded and directs Pens & Books for African Children, a federally registered Canadian non-profit that provides school supplies and resources to underprivileged students in West Africa. Rose also advocates for newcomer families, refugees, and marginalized youth in Canada, championing equity, anti-racism, and inclusive education. Her work reflects a deep belief in education as a transformative force and a commitment to creating opportunities for those most in need.

Leadership & Advocacy

Beyond her humanitarian projects, Rose has served as Chair of the International Assistance Standing Committee of ETFO and held leadership roles in Canadian Parents for French and other community organizations. She actively promotes intercultural education, technology-enhanced pedagogy, and global citizenship.

Rose is widely respected for her leadership and advocacy, recognized with multiple awards for teaching excellence. Her guiding principle is captured in her favorite quote:
